United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)
It isn't easy being a teen in a confused and confusing society. The United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) seeks to help young people — ages 12 to 18 — enjoy positive experiences in their church lives. By reaching out to other young people in the community, our youth share their growing faith, and by working within the church to serve the community, they develop a spirit of commitment. In addition to sharing and caring, fun is also a basic ingredient in the UMYF.
UMYF Youth Ministries is a place where any youth from junior high to high school can get involved in an environment that is safe and accepting of all, while learning about God's love in fun and exciting ways. We meet twice a week during the school year — Wednesday and Sunday evenings. During our weekly meetings we start off with fun, games, and fellowship, then spend the second part of our meetings with a short Bible lesson that is interactive and engaging.
We also plan trips throughout the year, including Mid-Winter Retreat — a 3-day retreat full of fun, fellowship, and worship through music provided by talented youth bands and special speakers. Youth mission trips occur during the summer, ranging from local service to statewide and regional trips. We also organize fundraisers to help youth afford these opportunities. If you are looking for a place where everybody knows your name, come and check out what God's people have to offer you!
